Plant "Aechmea"

All Aechmea light-loving plants. Most of the common species in culture belong to the warm temperature group.

Propagated by seeds. With seed reproduction, flowering occurs in the third year.

Low winter temperatures stimulate the formation of peduncles. The rest period is either absent or short. In summer, plants are watered regularly, with soft and warm water, as the topsoil dries. Aechmea are transplanted, if possible, annually, removing the faded leaves.
